UWC of South East Asia (established 1971, Singapore): Students are involved in projects focusing primarily on health, vocational training, street children and the environment. See Web site.

Waterford
KaMhlaba (established 1981,
Swaziland): "The World in Miniature".
It was established as a direct response to the
apartheid educational system in South Africa.
Together with UWC of South East Asia, they are
the only UWCs that offer a full high school range
from 11-19 years.

Adriatic
College (established 1982,
Duino, Italy): This is the first UWC to have been
established by government initiative. In July
1995, the Italian Parliament passed a law making
a permanent grant which finances more than half
the annual scholarship program. The College,
reflecting the cultural policies of the Italian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is closely engaged
in promoting internationalism through education
in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Armand Hammer College of the American West (established 1982, New Mexico, USA): This college has taken the lead in the development of Conflict Resolution Studies. See Web site.

Simon Bolivar College of Agriculture (established 1988, Venezuela): At the initiative of the Prince of Wales, a 3 year diploma program in farm management and rural development was established. It now brings together post-secondary scholarship students of 30 nationalities.

Li Po Chun (established 1992, Hong Kong): Their social work includes Vietnamese Refugee Camps and hospitals for severely brain-damaged children. See Web site.

Nordic UWC (established 1995, Norway): This is the first UWC to have been created through the dedication of the UWC alumni. It is also distinguished by its pioneering partnership with the Norwegian and the International Red Cross / Red Crescent; student volunteer at the Red Cross Center for Rehabilitation on campus grounds. Mahindra
College (established, 1997,
India): Its motto is "The World is One
Family." It is the first two-year
residential, full scholarship college in the
developing world. Its social programs are
dedicated to nearby rural communities. India's
rich and varying ecosystem helps students focus
on various aspects of environmental protection.
