Queen Noor inaugurates renovated National Gallery of Fine Arts.

Her Majesty Queen Noor Thursday inaugurated the newly renovated National Gallery of Fine Arts at Jebel Weibdeh. The Gallery, which was established in 1980 under the auspices of the Royal Society of Fine Arts, is a non-profit, non-governmental organizations whose Patron is Queen Noor. The renovated gallery now comprises three floors that house its expanded collection, which has grown from 77 art works to encompass over 1500 works. According to HRH Princess Wijdan Ali, the President of the Board of Trustees of the royal Society of Fine Arts, the National Gallery "has earned a world-wide reputation for its outstanding collection of fine arts from the Middle East and the Islamic and developing worlds." The gallery also includes a library, a gallery gift shop and a café.
