Queen Noor at the Roman city of Jerash, where she founded the annual international Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in 1981.

The Festival is the first of its kind to have two fully functioning Roman theaters: the North Theater (the Odeum) and the South Theater (seen left).

Queen Noor in front of the Nymphaeum, which was one of the most lavish of all the civic amenities in ancient Gerasa (Jerash). It was completed circa AD 190.

In purpose, a Nymphaeum was a public water fountain, but the one at Jerash, although comparatively small, was one of the most elaborately ornamented.
