National Music Conservatory
The National Music Conservatory (NMC), established in 1986, seeks to encourage the development of young Jordanian musicians. The Institute instills international standards of music excellence and offers college and pre-college programs for youth in traditional Arabic music and western classical music. In cooperation with Jordanian Universities, it provides a Bachelor's degree in Performance, Composition, Conducting, and Arabic music. The NMC has also assisted the Ministry of Education to enhance the integration of music appreciation in children's education through the development of music textbooks and recordings for the five school grades in Jordan.
One of the NMC's central purposes is to enrich the cultural scene in Jordan by sponsoring performances with master musicians and a variety of music ensembles within Jordan and abroad. The Conservatory’s international partnerships demonstrate that music can transcend borders, languages, and cultures.
